PLEASE NOTE - THE VERY LATEST UPDATES ARE IN COLOUR
SWAG and SWAG Meetings
The Save Wrea Green Action Group Executive has now been confirmed as elected by attendees at the meeting held on 6 May 2010. 78 residents attended this meeting after the whole village was leafletted with an invitation.
Consultation on Housing
On 18 April the Parish Clerk gave the results of the Consultation just completed. 124 households voted (about 20%) which was thought to be good. The KEY results were -
49% wanted no more affordable properties at all.
59% ( presumably of those who said Yes to some affordable homes) said they wanted 8 or less affordable homes
57% agreed that there was a need for sheltered/retirement homes in the Village.
Neighbourhood Plan for Wrea Green
The Committee drawing up the Neighbourhood Plan have completed their work on the draft. The Plan was available on the Wrea Green Village website from early September 2011. Voting for approval (or otherwise) using the self-printed Internet Form commenced 15 September and a presentation and voting also took place on 1 October in the Church Annexe from 10 to Noon for those with queries or without the Internet to see the Plan.
PLEASE VOTE, THIS PLAN IS IMPORTANT TO US ALL.
As at 2nd October only about 20% of the Village voted ( 99% in favour of approval). The aim is to get a clear majority even though the requirement is only to have a majority of those who actually voted ( which is well exceeded). A follow up with non-voting households will be undertaken in mid-October until an overall majority have voted
The voting in the SPAR closes on 8 October, so if you haven't voted please to so.
Planning Applications:
Planning Applications 10/0587 & 11/0554 - The Football Stadium, and pitches etc – Greenways Farm
A meeting at the school on 20 September 2010 was attended by some 120 residents. The Parish Council voted in favour of objecting to this application on 4th October 2010. The referendum was 98.54% against the development (57% voted). A petition against the development containing well over 600 signatures was submitted to the Planning Officer at FBC on 5th October 2010.
An application has now been resubmitted. The application number is 11/0554 and has reached the closing date for objections . The changes are minimal.
The Parish Council unanimously voted to object to this application on 12 September at a meeting attended by 153 people. Many thanks to those who attended.
We have been advised this application is before the DCC on 9 November 2011.
11/0542 The Villa - Variation of Condition banning any Live Music in the Marquee
On behalf of near neighbours, we are pleased to report this application was refused by the DCC.
11/0682 The Villa - Application to extend the operating period from 1/12 to 9/13.
The application says there have been few problems but near neighbours would not agree, with noise, trespass and vandalism. Too many breaches of conditions have occurred and there is little to prevent recurrence. The current Noise Abatement Notice has been breached on a number of occasions since it was issued and we understand a court hearing is due.
This application was considered by the Parish Council on 10 October and a decision was taken to recommend refusal as trust has been lost in the Villa's compliance with conditions, which includes the sole use of the Sound Ceiling System for amplified sound. Conditions exclude the unapproved and problematical satellite speakers which require removal. The Parish Council have agreed to meet with the Villa to discuss the issues arising and to see if a resolution can be found. The application is before the DCC on either 9 November or more likely 14 December 2011.
* Where an application comes before the DCC (FBC Development Control Committee) a decision is made based on two areas -
a) The Planning Case Officer's Recommendations, using relevant Planning Policies (Local and National)
b) Residents/applicants 3 minute representations to the DCC. To make a representation (max. 3 minutes allowed) you MUST register in advance with Lyndsey Lacey of FBC. (lyndseyl@fylde.gov.uk).
